o:1298 Die Kirche und die „Kärntner Seele“ Habitus, kulturelles Gedächtnis und katholische Kirche in Kärnten, insbesondere vor 1938 de Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Wahrnehmung der katholischen Kirche im österreichischen Bundesland Kärnten, insbesondere in der Zeit des so genannten „Christlichen Ständestaates“ von 1933/34 bis 1938. Dazu werden zunächst aus einer historischen Langfristperspektive mentalitätsgeschichtliche Rahmenbedingungen für das starke Ausmaß an Antiklerikalismus und Sympathie für den (illegalen) Nationalsozialismus in den Jahren vor 1938 herausgearbeitet. Anhand von einschlägigem Archivmaterial aus dieser Zeit wird jener Zusammenhang dann näher dokumentiert, bevor im Anschluss sieben Erinnerungstraditionen mit Text- und Bildbeispielen aus Kunst, Literatur und Historiographie vorgestellt werden, die die Wahrnehmung der Kirche in Kärnten nachhaltig prägten und immer noch prägen. This study deals with the percpetion of the Catholic church in Carinthia, a federal state of Austria, especially during the austrofascist era from 1933/34 to1938. Therefore, important historical stages in Carinthian history are outlined and so far unpublished archive material is analyzed. After all, particular facets of the Carinthian habitus are illustrated by text and image samples from arts, literature, and historiography.
