<dc:description xml:lang="en">This study takes the overlooked figure of the Greek satyr as a point of departure to critically revisit the legacy of antiquity in European theatre and dance history. As a fragment of bodily, erotic, and epistemic orders, the satyr unsettles dominant narratives and makes room for alternative genealogies. Merging cultural theory and performative practice, the book shows how historical imaginaries of the body continue to reverberate in contemporary discourses — and resurface in shifting, unexpected forms.</dc:description>
