<dc:description xml:lang="en">The study examines the emergence of the modern creative economy not out of literary movements or niches, but in the context of educational institutions and Bildungsromane of the 18th and 19th centuries. Kindergartens, schools and universities appear as places where the once elitist privilege of leisure was made accessible to broader social groups. The focus is on Bildungsromane as media of reflection, which not only contributed to the institutionalisation of leisure and creative selfdevelopment, but also negotiated their ambivalences and limitations in literature - and thus contributed to the genesis and complexity of the dispositive of creativity.</dc:description>
