This book offers the first comprehensive cultural analysis of ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) as a mediated, sensory and affective practice. It conceptualizes ASMR as a post-cinematic media form that produces intimacy through sound, gesture and performance, reconfiguring relations between bodies, technologies, humans and machines. Drawing on media studies, posthumanist theory, affect theory and digital ethnography, the book situates ASMR within contemporary cultures of digital self-care and wellness.
